I am a fourth-year mathematics Ph.D. student at UCLA. Prior to this, I received an Honors B.S. in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I completed my honors thesis in spectral theory with Jeremy Marzuola. At UCLA, I am currently working with Michael Hitrik in the field of semiclassical analysis, which bridges the geometric structure of classical mechanics and the operator-theoretical formulation of quantum mechanics.
My current research focuses on the low-lying spectral properties of pseudodifferential operators in the semiclassical limit
. You can learn more about my past and current research projects on my research page. Feel free to reach me by email at malkov [at] g.ucla.edu.
I will be present at the International Congress of Mathematicians, July 23-30, 2026, in Philadelphia.
I am also going to be the Teaching Assistant for the UCLA Summer 2026 Basic Exam Bootcamp.
